Rock Fish Reteriver

Butter is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever but Sitka Retriever is more like it. She wouldn't rest until she was able to jump into the icy waters off of Sitka Sound and bring us back this struggling Rock Fish. We took the fish from her mouth and returned it to the sea when she wasn't looking. It wasn't the Rock Fish's day as just a few minutes later an eagle came and snatched it from the surface of the water.

Polar Bear

We don't have Polar Bears in Sitka but we do have them up north, say Barrow. I saw our former Athletic Director in the office this morning. He moved to Barrow in the fall and I remembered some photos he had emailed me last year. This is a fellow of one of his former students. He did make it out of the parking lot safely.
